OOTD: Rocker Chic and Edgy

For today's OOTD, I wanted to style around this pair of black skinny pants that has a leather sheen finish. I love the fit and finish of this pair which I recently picked up from H&M. When it comes to leather or faux leather, the texture and finish of it can always give an instant boost to any outfit that spells chic and polish. You cant go wrong with anything black and leather finish apparels for the winter season. I am usually not a big fan of wearing too much black cuz I love myself some nice vibrant colors but lately that has been my go to selection. Guess we are in the season where anything dark will work.

In today's pairing, I chose this oatmeal beige shade quarter sleeve light weight knit top to offset all heaviness of the black pants. I topped it with a black faux leather moto jacket that I picked up from H&M recently. I adore the faux fur collar detail which can also serve a functional purpose of keeping your neck warm when zipped all the way up. I accessorized with my 2 black bracelets, teardrop earrings, and my beloved black color skull print scarf which ties the whole look together and give an extra dose of badass and edginess. I finished the whole look with a pair of light taupe ankle booties and black leather bag.

When styling with leather or faux leather, you want to balance it out with something delicate, soft, and feminine with light weight texture and lighter colors since leather is on the heavier, darker and tough side. On the other hand, if you want to go all out bad-ass and edgy, you can go with an all black ensemble but make sure they are of different textures like heavy knit or silk to keep each piece stand out on their own.
