Manicure Monday: Muted Blue and Gold Dots

Happy Monday, hope everyone enjoy their weekend. Another new day to start a new week ahead and I always start mine with my Manicure Monday =). For this manicure, I painted on this muted blue with a grayish undertone called "Blue Suede Shoes" from Sinful Shine. It sure has a pretty glossy finish and opaque after one coat without any top coat. I accented with some gold polka dots in double rows with some going slanted and some round and some straight across to make it less uniform. I love the combo of the muted blue and gold together which compliments pretty well with each other.

Sunday OOTD

70's Vintage Flare

Instead of going for the usual typical easy and lazy Sunday ensemble, I opted for a more pulled together and chic look that has a 70's vintage flare to it. I chose this super comfy multi-color vertical stripe pockted cropped pants (from Zara) paired with a simple sienna shade fitted cotton top (from Old Navy) tucked in and finished with pair of neutral color leather classic pumps (Franco Sarto) and metallic bronze color quilted shoulder bag (from Call It Spring). For extra warmth, I topped it with a tan color faux leather cropped jacket (from H&M) to complete the ensemble. For jewels, I have on an ivory shade statement necklace (from ebay), 2 buckle belt bangles, and one of my fav gold tone chain bracelet (from Jewelmint). The added sunglass totally completes this whole 70's look with a modern twist.

I snatched this pair of pants from Zara online for $9.99 and love everything about this pair of cropped pants from the fit, the pockets, the length, the look and they are the most comfortable pants I've worn. The material is super light weight that feels like second skin and it is not tight so it doesn't restrict movement. It literally feels like wearing silky PJ pants loll. The cut and silhouette is laidback while the pattern, the pockets, and tuxedo-waist band adds an extra flare that is stylish. This style of pants is best to be styled with heels since flats will make legs appear shorter and wide.

OOTD: Casual Biker Chic

Black and Lavender

For today's OOTD, I wanted to stay casual and comfy but still look pulled together. I opted for this pair of lavender shade skinny pants (from H&M) and styled it with a simple comfy black V cut 3/4 sleeve jersey top (from Express) that is super soft and thin and topped with a black faux leather cropped moto jacket (H&M) for an added edgy and tough look. Tied the whole look together with a gray/white animal print scarf (H&M) for extra warmth, pair of silver studded flats (from Mystique boutique) and black purse (from H&M).

How to Pull the Punk/Grunge Look:

At this year's MET Gala, the trend was punk/grunge which usually involves color black, spikes, studs, leather, flannel shirts, oversized chunky sweaters, heavily worn/ripped jeans and sneakers, thrift store dresses, mo-hawks, unkempt and unwashed hair, etc. To stay slightly in trend and not go into extremes (ripped jeans, mo hawks, unwashed hair), I've incorporated 3 key pieces here which are the black faux leather cropped moto jacket, the silver studded black flats and gold studded black bracelet to give my look a more tough biker chic look.

EVA MENDES COLLECTION
For New York and Company

Eva Mendes – a talented actress, gorgeous model and now a fashion designer, with her latest collection with New York & Company! The affordable clothing line is full of florals, black lace, leopard print and fall colors like burgundy and khaki.

Here Eva Mendes wearing her own collection of the fit and flare dress
and pink Milano coat on 2 different days

I recently purchased some items from the Eva Mendes Collection that caught my attention. I placed 2 separate orders. In my first order, I bought 2 of the River Fit and Flare dresses in 2 different prints and 1 bow shell blouse. The package came yesterday and I tried them on and i am pretty impressed with the fit and quality. The size 0 fits me very nicely. I think the fit and flare is one of the most flattering cut for any women's shape where it accentuates and hugs in the right places and hide the flaws. The fitted top and belted waist gives it shape and figure while the flare bottom hides those with heavy bottoms (myself included). For those with pear shape (small waist and wider/bigger bottom), the fit and flare cut sure will be your best friend. Aside from the fit, this whole silhouette is so feminine and classic.

I love the floral print and base color on this dress

I love polka dot prints and burgundy color, so picked out both the dress and blouse

Still awaiting for these items to arrive:

This LBD dress is both classic yet modern with faux leather lace cutouts

Got both the blouse and scarf in the same polka dot print

I just love these 2 prints, so had to pick them up as well

OOTD: Nautical Fun, Flirty, and Girly

Today's OOTD is girly, flirty, nautical fun, and boho featuring a midi length pleated skirt (from H&M)in this bright fuchsia shade. I styled the skirt with a simple nautical stripe tank (from GAP) tucked in and topped it with a light denim wash cropped moto jacket (from American Eagle) to balance out the girliness and delicate of the skirt. I love pairing bright colors with nautical stripes which I think is very clean, chic, and classic. I added a pair of tan color ankle booties (from Forever21) and styled a side fishtail braid for a more boho vibe. I finished the whole look with a simple black purse and some silver tone jewels. Makeup wise, I went with a matching bright fuchsia shade lips and simple eyes for a more clean and chic look.

Another Coral Pairing

Sunday OOTD: Relax and Refine

Today's OOTD is both relax and refine that works well together. We hosted an early bday party for my niece Kylie who will turn 1 on the 25th of this month. I know I will be running around and moving a lot so I wanted my outfit to be comfy but still look pull together. I knew I wanted some type of warm and happy color so I chose this coral shade silky button down blouse from Old Navy which I have in a few other colors as well hehehe. This is my fav type of blouse cuz I can wear it all year round and can be styled with any bottoms. For the bottom, I knew I wanted to wear leggings, cuz that is always a no brainer and easy choice for the weekends. The black color of the leggings (from Express) paired very well and balance out the colorful top of the blouse which has a longer hem which is important when pairing with leggings to cover the derriere. Leggings give off a very relax and casual feel but when paired with a more refined top like a button down silky blouse, it elevate the outfit to make it look more pulled together instead of the usual leggings and loose tee's pairing. I finished the whole look with pair of silver studded black flats and black shoulder bag from H&M. For jewels, I went with a statement the Cosmic Fusion Necklace from Jewelmint, pair of same coral tone dangling earrings, and some bangles on my left hand and bracelets on my right hand.
